Why don't we get 35,005 sell outs any more?
While 'bidding' for the new stadium it was a regular occurance for West Ham to sell out to the tune of 35,005 (this happened 7 times in the 2012/13 season).

Now the most we can get 34,977 for a sell out. What happened to those 28 missing seats?

End of the day it's been made up bullshit one way or another since the dawn of time... pick of a number... multiple it by 11000 and minus 76... that'll do

Arsenal get always the same but vast amounts of empty seats, clubs now count sold tickets not actual attendances.

Used to have a claret and blue painted stool that I stood on in the North Bank with me old man.... I remember once when Man U steamed in he chucked me off and started flying into the cockney reds.... fucking splinters everywhere there was...

28 seats were damaged and they don't want to waste money on repairs before the move

Loved the old days where UP would be heaving.... turnstiles doing pay one letting two go in .... could hardly breathe on the terraces and the next day in the paper the attendance would be 25k!! My old man was at the Spurs game record attendance... he reckons there was about another 10k on top!!

I remember the old days of terracing when someone dropped their guts because we were so tightly packed it used to linger for ages. All you could was suck it up and hope it drifted away sharpish

Re: Why don't we get 35,005 sell outs any more?
It's quite possible that a lot of seats were sold but people for whatever reason couldn't turn up?

I do realise that this doesn't account for blocks that are empty

Ha ha ha.

I used to love those discussions.

Everyone: bit old they're claiming we sold out, there were gaps all over the West Upper.

mentor: We we're banged out, my mate had to work though so that may have caused it to not look full.

Re: Why don't we get 35,005 sell outs any more?
We're always banged out so does it matter? But I could never understand why the gap between away and home fans is so wide. That must cost us £10000 a game.
